Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 30, 2026
Who we are
Peer Support Alliance is a nonprofit organization offering peer-to-peer mental health support through a mobile app. We are committed to protecting your privacy and providing a safe space for users. Peer Support Alliance is a peer-support community, not a healthcare provider or crisis service. Please also read our Terms of Service.
What information we collect
We may collect the following when you use our app:
- Your username and user ID.
- Your email address.
- Your year of birth, used only to confirm you are 18 or older (we store the year, not a full date of birth).
- Optional profile details you choose to add: a first name, a city, and a profile photo.
- Messages, photos, and reactions you send in group rooms and direct messages.
- Safety information: the members you block and any reports you submit.
- A device notification token, so we can send you notifications (for example, a new direct message).
How we use your data
We use this information to:
- Enable group chats and direct messages.
- Keep the community safe through moderation, reports, and blocking.
- Confirm you are 18 or older.
- Send notifications you would expect, such as new direct messages.
- Respond to support requests and user reports.
We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising or analytics.
Account deletion
You can permanently delete your Peer Support Alliance account and its associated data at any time, directly in the app: go to your Profile and choose Delete account.
If you cannot sign in, for example because you have lost access to your account, you can instead email us at contact@peersupportalliance.org from the address associated with your account, including the username or email you use in the app. We will process email requests within 5 to 7 business days.
To keep the community safe and meet our legal obligations, we may retain limited moderation and safety records after deletion, such as reports connected to your account. These records reference accounts by ID and do not include your profile details or message content.
Data security
All data is encrypted in transit to help protect your communication. No online service can be completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
Our app is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an under-18 account was created, we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with the revised date.
Contact us
If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact us at contact@peersupportalliance.org or 484-302-8222.
Safety standards
Peer Support Alliance strictly prohibits any form of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), exploitation, or abuse within our community.

- Reporting: users can report safety concerns by emailing contact@peersupportalliance.org.
- Compliance: Peer Support Alliance complies with all relevant child safety laws and will cooperate with national and regional authorities where required.
